1. download hex workshop 4.2 first

2. download Flashfxp

3. look for the offsets for the characters you want to create in one of the pinned topics at the top. when you find what i'm talking about HIGHLIGHT from Humar to Fomar and right click on your mouse and select print selected, you will need these offsets. the Humar offset starts like this

Humar

004120F8(Weapon)

00412114(Armor)

and it keeps going on like that through mags and items for all characters

an offset since your probally wondering is just the reference point for where the bytes for a item begin.
if you look in your hex workshop you will notice the numbers and letters on the far left, these are offsets.

4. the file you need to hack in order to get the items you want a new character to start with is default.xbe. you have to put PSO onto your HDD on your xbox and than use Flashfxp to open an FTP from your PC to your xbox, and if you have already put PSO onto the HDD you will open E:/games and you should see PSO and inside PSO you will see the default.xbe. before you start to hack it though i want you to transfer it to your PC to a spot you know you will not erase it. than rename it default.xbePSOBACKUP.

5. now open Hex Workshop and under file select open. you should see your default.xbePSOBACKUP. you should now see the offsets to the far left i was talking about earlier, remember all they do is count the bytes, a byte being a pair of numbers or letters, so 0000 is two bytes since 00 00 is two pairs of zeros.
if your still with me and not totally lost, click on Edit than GoTo, and put in the offset for the Humars weapon i put it in bold for you. you see it, its 004120F8 and that will take you to the very begining of the weapon bytes for a Humar. just looks like numbers right. well if you notice in the same pinned topic that has your offsets for the characters there are also the bytes for most of the weapons in the game. now compare what you see in Hex Workshop to the saber bytes in the pinned topic. do you see how they match. to change weapons you just replace the saber bytes with the weapon you want to start out with instead. you can do this with all characters and all their items. you can make characters with 5 weapons or armors or mags or items. or any combination. ok after you are done doing all your hacking click on File and than Save As and save the file as default.xbe. DO NOT JUST HIT SAVE THIS WILL OVERWRITE YOUR BACKUP. the reason i want you to save it as default.xbe is when you FTP it to your xbox you can overwrite the original default.xbe. if you want to learn how to make mags i have a topic started where i was teaching myself how to do it and put it in the forum so others can use it as reference. also if you want to know how to put percentages on your weapons i can help you with that. i just wrote this to get you pointed in the right direction. good luck and happy hacking

forgot to mention before, to get the new default.xbe to work you have to FTP to your xbox and go to E:/TDATA/4d53004a and either transfer it to your pc than delete it off your xbox or rename it. i recommend transfering it to the pc as a permanent backup. this is very important, if you ever want to play online you have to put this file back into TDATA or you will get banned. this file is the file you xbox downloads the very first time you try to connect to the PSO server and if you download it too many times you will get banned

and if you dont know, after you have done everything ive mentioned you have to launch the game from the HDD ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PLAY ONLINE WHEN LAUNCHED FROM THE HDD OFFLINE ONLY you will get banned immediately no ifs, ands, or buts about it

when you want to play online REPLACE THE 4d53004a FILE TO TDATA AND LAUNCH FROM THE ORIGINAL GAME DISK BY INSERTING IT INTO THE DISK DRIVE, TURNING THE XBOX OFF AND THAN BACK ON, THAT WAY IT LOADS OFF THE DISK GUARENTEED

Ok, i get exacly what you are saying, but when i do the GOTO thing it highlights a number that is "66" and i dont know where to put the new weapon i want. Because i didnt know where to put my new weapon, and where the beginning saber was.

would it be possible if you can send/post a picture of the hex screen and tell me which numbers do what, and where the beginning weapon would be??

what hex editor are you using. as for the "66" i dont know what that is, the first thing you should see if you start with the humar weapon offset is 0001 00 which are the bytes for a saber, make sure you have default.xbe in the hex editor because these offsets are for that file only. the offsets you posted earlier are exactly what your looking for BTW

remember an offset is just a "counter" that keeps track of the number of bytes and their on the far left of the screen. the bytes we're changing will be in the middle of the screen
