I need help connecting my xbox to my pc. I'm running evox off of a boot disc and have connected my xbox to my pc via a crossover cable, but when I try to connect to the xbox through a FTP program it won't connect. What could I be doing wrong?

Here is what the network settings in my evox.ini file looks like:

SetupNetwork = Yes
StaticIP = Yes
Ip = 192.168.0.2
Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway = 192.168.0.1
DNS1 = 0.0.0.0
DNS2 = 0.0.0.0
SkipIfNoLink = No
SetupDelay = 5

How do I change my computer's subnet?

Ok, I've set my pc's ip and subnet to 192.168.0.2 and 255.255.255.0, respectively. When the cable is connected to my xbox and pc, the a message pops up saying that there is a connection, but when I try to connect using an ftp program it cant connect.

which ftp program are you using?
what are errors do you get when you try to connect?
Is your xbox idle (at the dash) when you ocnnect?
Do you have username=xbox and password=xbox ?
are you using an actual crossover cable?

this is from my evox.ini:

SetupNetwork = Yes
StaticIP = Yes
Ip = 192.168.0.3
Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway = 192.168.0.1
DNS1 = 0.0.0.0
DNS2 = 0.0.0.0
SkipIfNoLink = No
SetupDelay = 10

however, I use a router and that is the 192.168.0.1 node on the network for me.

With just a crossover cable you need to set to 'static ip'
user name xbox
password xbox
