Help My Pioneer Wont Read Any Disks

ok here is my delima.....i bought and ide to usb adaptor for my pioneer and its being picked up by windows and when i put a disk into it simply wont play, spin nothing at all.....so i thiught my adaptor was the problem....so i installed it into my pc.......same thing picks up the drive but when i put a cd into it it wont play.......another thing i got my kreon drive today in the mail and it works fine with the ide to usb adaptor........is my pioneer messed up i just got it yesterday from newegg........i need help btw its set as master and my other dvd burn is slave

Test with another CD and if the pioneer drive still can't read it, ask for an exchange. Probably the drive is defective.

A computer forum might be more helpful...as this forum is meant for help with the 360 DVD-ROM....not DVD burners.
