I guess this was done a couple months ago and I had not seen anyone post about it.

He has a step by step with pics!
And thatís the end of this hack. Now I need to find something useful to do with my 40GB NDS system. Perhaps I could listen to music or watch full-length rips of my DVDs.

well thats nice, but who is gona want to lug around that 40 gb HDD? the NDS is supposed to be "fit in your pocket" portable.

How easy would it be to adapt it to a lappy hard drive and strap it to the back of DS, I wonder. And maybe a battery on the lid. Still portable, but I wouldn't want to hold it steady for a long time, and it still doesn't exactly fit in a pocket.
