So I actually did the same thing as you, even putting in Call of Duty 3 and getting the prompt this morning. Do you think it might just be a new patch for that specific game? (The Gears of War update specified that it was a game update, this new message says its a console update)

It might also just be a tweaked Marketplace that might allow for people to actually download HD movies on their minuscule hard drives.

So, where are the braver souls out there that have done the update?

It is a dashboard update to fix a couple issues. See the main xbox-scene page for details.

~I played COD3 the other day and was asked for an update - does this come on the game disc? I ask as I have issues getting online - Ill post about that some other time.
Just wondered how one goes about getting updates if you cant get on xbox live (though I have the internet at home)

Can they be downloaded burnt to disc and manually added?

Cheers

Both dashboard- and gameupdates are included on the gamediscs. You can't burn just an update on a disc and then apply it. This update does nothing but fixes some problems with 1080p via VGA.

No, you can't. That's why Team Xtender is bringing out another XFPS product.
