Hello all, just a little confused as to if I have a good drive. I've managed to figure out the details from the 360 list site, now I just need to know if it's "soft-moddable"

Just picked a GOW package at Futureshop Canada.

Xbox 360 Premium NTSC
Manufact. Date: 2006-09-08
Lot: 0636
Team: CSON
Drive: Toshiba-Samsung
Country: United States
Shop: Microcenter

Thanks a lot.

As mcding82 says do some reading, alot of reading. Then some more untill you understand exactly what your going to do your 360 to mod it, and why.
Also your going to have open up your 360 to work out which model of Samsung you have, which will void your warranty.

Good Luck.

It should also be pointed out that there are no soft mods for the 360, or at least not in the same sense as the original Xbox. You don't need to do any soldering, but you're flashing the dvd-rom drive's firmware.

Well its not in the tutorial list, so I'll go ahead and point you to http://360drives.com/list - you can filter the list based on team number, etc. and it will give you an idea of what other people with the same box got in terms of the dvd drive. However, its not 100% guaranteed that you'll get the same drive... the only way to know for sure is to open up the 360.

Hi guys,

I'm not the one that's going to flash the drive. I was just told by the gent to check to see what I have. As you can see in my first post, I have a Samsung, and I was just wondering whether or not it is a good thing.

Samsung is good. It is flashable no matter what firmware is on there. Tell dude you got a Sammy (probably MS28). Thats all you know until he opens it up.
