can you tell me if disk unreadable is fixed by the rubberband hack or is it another issue. originals work fine, but when i put back up in it comes up with disk is dirty, try cleaning disk and reboot.

tried the various versions for rebooting with game in etc...

so will the rubberband thing work, or is that just for open tray thing.

updated my hitachi 3120L with latest firmware.

Are you using cheap media? That can be one cause.

Rubberband is supposed to only fix open tray, but could help with the unreadable disc error.

i am using verbs. sounds like the laser moving, makes a scratching noise. would this be fixed by the rubberband.

I flashed my sammy with firmware 4.2 and was succesfull. When I tried my first backup it worked fine, tried another backup and it did not work. I tried the first working backup again and that did not work anymore..

So I tried with the rubberband method/solution, and when I did that and tried the 2 backups they worked both perfectly.

So I guess the rubberband does more then only the open tray...

was your fault the unreadable disk one, and was the laser making alot of noise.

also while not reading backups, did your drive load originals.

does anyone have a link to the rubberband hack, as i have only found that vid on youtube.

will earth wire casing also work, but what lengh should i cut it, and do i stick it with glue.

finally if this is a firmware problem, as it might be as originals boot, will this be fixed in future firmwares, has there been any talk about this.

thx
