Gmail Fetcher is an added feature to a Gmail account that allows you to fetch e-mail from other non-Gmail, POP3 accounts, and add them to your Gmail inbox for review. Also, once another e-mail address is added to your Gmail account, you can send e-mail from that address all within Gmail. For more info, click this link --> LINK

Do note that Gmail fetcher is not available for every Gmail account. They are slowly rolling this service out, and your Gmail account may not have it implemented.

I have two Gmail accounts, and currently, only one has the Gmail fetcher active.

To see if the fetcher is available on your Gmail account, go to your Gmail inbox and click: "Settings" --> then click "Accounts". If the fetcher is active you'll see "Get mail from other accounts", just as shown in the screen shot below.

To add an account simply click the "Add another mail Account" link and Gmail prompts you with a few fields to enter an email address, password, and some other settings. You should be able to add any POP3 email account, though some free services may block access.

Upon adding an e-mail account, if you tick the "Archive incoming messages (Skip the Inbox)", it wont mix those e-mails into your main inbox, and you can view those e-mails by clicking the e-mail account name under "Labels".

What's really nice is it also filters spam for those other e-mail accounts, and I've found Gmail to have some of the best spam filters around. Plus, being able to read and respond to 5 different e-mails from one account is very convenient, particularly since your Gmail account can be accessed from any internet connection, without having to rely on apps such as Outlook, or other e-mail fetchers.

I've tried it with a Comcast account and it worked perfect, though it wouldn't work with "SSL" ticked.

If anyone has tips, or success fetching from other e-mail services using Gmails fetcher, share your experience.
