First of all i would like to thank all the people that helped me get evox on my Xbox.

Any who i just put XBMP on my box. It loads up fine and stuff. But in the my pictured and things there are files there already. Some of the names are (NETWORK) XBMSP, (NETWORK) NSX, HDD, DVDROM (IS09). when i click on them it freezes XBMP. What are they and how do i get rid of them?

Okay, I'll help. The different items you see are listed in your config.xml. They pertain to various sources/storage that you can view or listen to media from. The one that says HDD is your local hard drive.

You have to configure your config.xml to see the media you have. That file will be located in the root directory of your XBMP2 installation. The reason why it "freezes" when you select one of these is because they have not been configured, and XBMP is looking for the resource that is not there.

The config.xml just requires you to modify it i.e change ip address, paths, true to false etc. There is not really a glossary of commands that are used.

As of your original request i.e you just want to display only HDD shares then just delete all
the shares except the ones relating to HDD. The between the name tages is what is displayed on screen . . .

<share>
<name>HDD</name>
<url>e:\music</url> <--- you would put your music media in a folder on xbox HDD e:\music
</share>

do the same for pictures and videos!

For reference . . . Network shares . . .

<name>Network (XBMSP)</name> = ccxstream
<name>Network (XNS)</name> = Relax
<name>Network (SMB)</name> = SAMBA

edit . . .

If not allready read up on some wicked features that XBMP has in official guide . . .
