If I have an emulator on my xbox hard drive, like NeoGenesis, can I have the roms on a DVD, and play them off there? or do all games need to be on the HD?

Also, In regards to the MAME emulator and games, can it handle games with cabinet files (.chd)? Can these be on a disc with the rom files?

Hi,

I do remember playing some sega cd games off media (cd) but the roms? Only if it lets you choose the path of the roms?

As for mame, I'm not entirely sure about the cabinet files - I would check the support thread on that one.
