when i try to FTP through FlashFXP, it will drop the connection with the xbox every minute or so. i have a direct connection through a crossover cable.

Xbox IP= 192.168.0.2
IP the PC is connecting to= 192.168.0.1

is this right??

Those settings are right, as long as the xbox gateway is set to 192.168.0.1
Try a different program for ftp on the xbox side. XBMC, AVALaunch, etc.

it transfers files just fine. it just fails to connect after transfering a moderate amount of files. i have to disconnect and the re-connect to continue. i might have to do this 3 or 4 times before the queue is complete. passive mode is off.

Try with another FTP program, I've had flaky problems with flashfxp.

Also make sure you set it to PORT mode (not passive).. If that doesn't work, Try hooking up to your xbox through a hub/switch/router.

I'm moving this to the xbox newbie forum, don't take it as an offense.. But you should be able to get more help there.

its all good.

well the thing is i dont have a home network nor anything like that. i have been using the xbox cable to hook two of them together. and i think it might have been pinched under a furniture leg or something like that. so i will try another crossover and see if it works.

Flashfxp, and Cuteftp have given me the same types of errors and my xbox is connected to my home network via a router. Flashfxp when set to active transfers really fast for a bit then totally freezes my pc and I have a pentium4 3.0ghz 2gb ram home built pc. Cuteftp will act weird too, but I'll try changing it to port mode I saw that setting when I was playing with it.
