Wii Controller Mod (pt. 3)
Posted 18 January 2007 - 06:15 AM
Rechargeable battery, via ipod battery.
Added Power Button Light
Charge via USB through stock Wii Dongle.
There is more I am leaving out. Right towards me putting it all back together, I can name about 5 things that went terribly wrong. So this is now dubbed my "Version.0". I don't like how it turned out internally and some scuffs/burns externally.

and on the teasers.. I don't think people understood what was happening, thus no nice comments. All I saw was some randomly blinking LEDs.. This clears it up though.

changing some surface mount leds, wiring some around the clear a button connected to the player lights, and wireing some from the player status leds
and the recharge bat is probably hooked up to a relay so that when power goes in, it switches to providing the rechargable bat with power
the plug that plugs into the controller unscrew, so that bit can be nice nice and tidy too

thats great but in a weeks time u can buy a rechargable stand for 30. not only that, your cutting up nunchucks that are hard enough to find.
So I guess me paying $0 to do this mod is pointless? I guess I should wait to spend $30 as opposed to free?
On the subject "hard to find" :

free....?????if u think about it, you spent 20 bucks for that mod, maybe more. 20 bucks for the nunchucks you destroyed...and whatever it cost for the battery and parts for there.
so your "free" mod wasnt free.

Sir Crx, thats a cool mod. How can you be sure the battery wont over-charge.
Is there a built in cut-off in the ipod battery or do you need something else?
Also, using that battery, you have more room in there so maybe you could put a better
speaker in there to replace the stock one.
Is th ipod battery NiMH, NiCd or lithium ion?
