Are you being dense on purpose? Why would you THINK you need to edit the home.xml when both myself and Jezz X specifically told you that's what you need to edit? I also gave you a general area of this thread to look to find the answer already completely spelled out. This thread!! It's not like you have to spend days or even hours to find your answer. You've wasted more time waiting for somebody to write it all out (again) for you when it would've taken maybe a half an hour (if that!) for you to find the post(s) that already completely explain how to do what you want. You obviously want to be spoon fed and are simply too lazy to look for the answer yourself.

You asked for help and your were given help. Now, you are asking for somebody to do the work for you.

Well, I looked and I didn't find the answer I was looking for... I want to know how to change my "Movies" button to say "Video".

All the code I found about it is way different that the code in the help.xml that is in the new build... I went to line 92 and changed it but it still says movies... Here's my code around line 92

</focusedlayout>
<content>
<item>
<icon>icon-video.png</icon>
<thumb>icon-video-blur1.png</thumb>
<include>10001</include>
<onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideoFiles)</onclick>
<visible>!Skin.HasSetting(Video-library)</visible>
</item>
<item>
<icon>icon-video.png</icon>
<thumb>icon-video-blur1.png</thumb>
<include>10001</include>
<onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideoLibrary,MovieTitles)</onclick>
<visible>Skin.HasSetting(Video-library)</visible>
</item>
<item>
<icon>icon-tv.png</icon>
<thumb>icon-tv-blur1.png</thumb>
<include>10010</include>
<onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideoLibrary,tvshowtitles)</onclick>
<visible>!Skin.HasSetting(tv-library)</visible>
</item>
<item>
<icon>icon-youtube.png</icon>
<thumb>icon-youtube-blur1.png</thumb>

<thumb>icon-music-blur1.png</thumb>
<include>10003</include>
<onclick>ActivateWindow(MyMusic)</onclick>

Check out the file named Translate.xml in the Pal folder, all the labels for the home window is in the first set of includes. All you have to do is change the desired labels then reload the skin or reset xbmc.

I found the answer after looking again... but it was neither in a post from from Rockdawg or Jezz X, which is the posts i was looking at... and I though that i may need to edit home.xml... I know that you said this "Why would you THINK you need to edit the home.xml when both myself and Jezz X specifically told you that's what you need to edit?" Well you were specifically wrong... it was translate.xml...

Now it's like I want it...

You could have just edited the home.xml, you could have just turned this
CODE
                <item>
                     <icon>icon-video.png</icon>
                     <thumb>icon-video-blur1.png</thumb>
                    <include>10001</include>
                    <onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideoFiles)</onclick>
                    <visible>!Skin.HasSetting(movie-library)</visible>
                </item>

into this
CODE
                <item>
                     <icon>icon-video.png</icon>
                     <thumb>icon-video-blur1.png</thumb>
                    <label>Videos</label>
                    <onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideoFiles)</onclick>
                    <visible>!Skin.HasSetting(movie-library)</visible>
                </item>

I would like to point out that I never told you what to edit you asked where home.xml was I told you. I never said it was the correct one even though it was for the original question you had before how to I change it to say Video

End of story

You want the code at the end of home.xml to look like this

IPB Image

Here's the actual code

<control>
<description>Weather conditions</description>
<type>image</type>
<id>1</id>
<posx>640</posx>
<posy>495</posy>
<width>45</width>
<height>49</height>
<info>Weather.Conditions</info>
<colordiffuse>98FFFFFFF</colordiffuse>
<visible effect="fade" time="250">system.hasnetwork</visible>
</control>

<control>
<description>Weather Temperature</description>
<type>label</type>
<id>1</id>
<posx>640</posx>
<posy>493</posy>
<info>Weather.Temperature</info>
<font>special12</font>
<align>right</align>
<visible effect="fade" time="250">system.hasnetwork</visible>
</control>

<control>
<description>Weather Location</description>
<type>label</type>
<id>1</id>
<posx>640</posx>
<posy>515</posy>
<info>Weather.Location</info>
<font>special12</font>
<align>right</align>
<visible effect="fade" time="250">system.hasnetwork</visible>
</control>

home.xml is here...

Coverflow's looking nice smile.gif - could perhaps do with some easing added to the animations?

Looks less good on 4:3 tv's but then maybe its time for me to finally buy a widescreen tv.

could somebody hook me up with a nice matching .png (and the same one but blurred) that i can use for my scripts-link in the home.xml page? I know how to include it, but cant find a nice icon for it. And im having a bit of a hard time getting the transparency right with the icons that i tried out...
thanks
edit: i think this one would be nice to use....: http://send.devianta...t-icon-56922587 but that written for mac.

I owe you an apology pow_hnd!! I totally missed your post asking how to change the button text. I thought you were still trying to figure out how to make the TV button go to files view. I didn't read everything thoroughly and made an ass out of myself by jumping to conclusions.

Once again, I apologize!!!
