I have an xbox 1 that has one of the very first mod chips installed. It is a solder mod that has about 30 wires or something and the bios is unflashable. The xbox is loaded up with the latest evox and runs all other apps fine.

I've just recently installed a new 80 gig hard drive using xboxhdm v1.9 setup cd. The hard drive is in there and everything is running on it, but it doesn't detect any new space. ive turned on the evox dash to read an f drive, but nothing. It's as if it still thinks there is an 8gig drive installed. I re-formatted the F drive, but still nothing.

My question - Is this caused by the fact i don't have a modchip with a bios. Or is it because you can't perform hard drive upgrades on the first gen mod chips.

If there is no choice, but to get a new modchip to fix this problem - can it be easily done. Given the fact there is a soldered chip already there?

Please let me know guys

thankyou.
