Yes, the XBOX will be able to read S/VCD/DiVX, that's not a problem. The console is powerfull enought, dedicated P733 with a ''GeForce3 based'', it's ok. The only way for you to play any kind of movie will be first to buy a modchip that allow ''unsigned code'' to boot. Then a group will release a ''boot file'' that you'll burn on the same CD-R than the movie.* and it'll probably works.

Groups are working on that right now and i'll be not surprised to see a movie pack in about 1 month 1/2 cool.gif

The Dreamcast works pretty well with DCDivx if you encode the movie right.

if you want to play a movie well on DC you have to use this special encoding tool that uses the codec that come with the system.... i would offer it but i do not believe its legal.....

No no no. DCDivx is an actual Divx player. You don't have to encode the movie in the Softdec codec (A form of MPEG-1) for it to play with DCDivx. I encoded Baseketball to a 400 MB divx movie and played it with DCDivx just fine and it looks nice and everything.

I do believe the guys at www.divx.com are actually behind this one. That's why it's so good. You can download it from www.dcdivx.com I think. I didn't check so don't hit me if it doesn't work.

You will need MP3/AC3/OGG support within the DivX player also else it would be of no use, so that's another major point with having a DivX player, MP3 only wouldn't do the job...

and these days almost everything is in AC3 or something so it's a MUST...

Yeah but i wonder why the divx and (s)vcd player are not combined...

Anyway sounds nice what they are doing, and they are not the only once working on this so maybe we'll have a good race-off with divx players so the quality of it wil raise
