Ok. So this is my first mod on any system so bear with me if its a little sloppy tongue.gif

Here is a link to some pics of my progress so far

Since this is my first mod and i have no soldering skill i figured i would keep it pretty simple

*Metallic blue paint on outer case*
*Several LED lights inside the console*
*A small window to see inside (just so i have experience)*
*And maybe some internal painting*
updates may be a little slow because I am leaving for Ohio in the morning
but feel free to leave comments and tips/pointers since im still a noob lol

It's ok for a first time but the paint looks uneven from the pictures (over painted in some areas). You probably should have removed any loose pieces from the case instead of using masking tape as well. These components include the rubber feet, the bottom expansion slot cover and the top power and reset switches. Painting them seperately makes things far easier and since the feet are flexible, the pain will eventually chip.

Also, if you are planning to cut a window, it's usually best to do that before starting to paint. Since you'll be adding more coats, it's not a big deal since you can still prep up the surface and clean it but make sure you do your cutting before you paint any more.

ya i thought about that after i had started the painting sleep.gif but yeah i dont think im going to dremel it only because it is small and would probably look stupid with a tiny window on it. it was good practice though for when i do a more elaborate mod

What type of socket did you use to remove the screws?
