i can now join the ps3 bandwagon biggrin.gif

thing is i can get a japanese ps3 for $150 cheaper than a usa ps3.

i don't use my xbox or ps2 for watching movies and i don't intend to use my ps3 for one
so region coding for movies is not an issue for me.

the ps3 is region free and most games such as resistance fall of man are region free (i checked www.play-asia.com) but i realise that sony has left the option for publishers to restrict titles to certain regions.

so i need some advice on wether or not i should get the cheaper japanese ps3 rather than the american ps3.
i'm really worried that future games such as Lair, Metal Gear Solid 4 or Final Fantasy XIII could be
region coded to ntsc-U (American) and then i wouldn't be able to play them on my japanese ps3 uhh.gif
I'd really apreciate your thoughts
Cheers jester.gif

I got a JAP PS3.
The Blu-ray movies will not be a problem. JAP, USA and South America share the same region (Im in South America, Brasil by the way).

The problem is with the games.
PS2 games dont play.

PS3 games have the region lock option and when sony wants or the publisher wants they will do it.

I guess that USA region lock to play only in USA wont be a fact but JAP exclusives will. The marked of videogames always had JAP exclusives since nintendo.

Now I'm afraid. Guess Ill change my PS3 for JAP maybe. Got it 3 days ago....
