Hello I've just received my new nme 1.2 because I fried the last one.

I know there's a "fix" for the 1.2, moving the 470 coil to the 5v and making a bridge..
This is on the underdog website, news section.

Is this absolutely necessary ??

I have an Hitachy 78FK.
What are the risks if I solder the nme in its original form?

Is the fix only necessary on samsungs?

Fred

So far. it seems the 470 fix is for Samsungs. Not hitachis.

You should install the chip as-is. Then if there is some error, after you've exhausted all other avenues... remove the 470.

btw, for hitachi 78k, I recommend the Xeno. Less wires. Though u do have to power on the 360 via the Eject button to enable the chip - ... i'm lazy.

But if u think u can tackle it.. go for the nme1.2
