Somebody must have picked up their parts for the x-clamp replacement at a place other than Lowes. I tried searching the forums for this info, but came up empty handed. I need measurements in inches, or NOT in mm's since us stupid americans always have to be different. I couldn't tell you how long I was at the hardware store trying to figure out what size washer is close to .71 mm in size. That was not fun or successful. Can anybody help me please. I have a Home Depot and an Ace Hardware near me. No Lowes or no metric measurements please. Or just point me in the right direction. Thanks.

at home depot just get 10/32 1/2" bollts.. the heads are shaped like reverse cones... and in the drawers you can find #5 metal washers and 5mm nylon washers.. note the screws that i told you cause home depot doesnt sell the other ones and the 5mm hex bolts have too big of a head.. you only need 8 metal and 8 nylon washers with those screws and those screws come in an 8 pack with nuts for 96 cents so it is much cheaper to go that route

Thanks for the insight. Much appreciated. I went for a guess and picked up the 8 x 32 3/4" oval tips, so I was kind of close. You say I should get the flat head bolts instead? and only 1/2" in length should be enough? Right on. I appreciate the time it took you to reply and the time I'm gonna save when I go back to Home Depot and not have to rely on complete retards to help me out this time around. Truly a pimp.

I got #8-32 x 1" screws, It came in a 8 Piece with Nuts in a Green Bag. It worked for my CPU Heatsink, I don't want to attempt my GPU Heatsink yet because you might have to screw a new hole but I never tried it.
(Weren't in the drawers, the washers are though - 5mm Washers)

I got flat tips to be safe too.

Here are the offical home depot part numbers:
Qty - 8 Machine Screw Pan - Phillips 5 x 10mm (DR# - 313) UPC - 030699 801282
Qty - 16 Flat Washer Nylon #10 (DR# - 610) UPC - 030699 869381
Qty - 16 Flat Washer Steel / ZINC Plated 5mm (DR# - 606) UPC - 030699 363087

I have successfully repaired 4 3RLOD's with these parts. Do NOT use the 'hex' head screws as a alternative, they are too large and cause your motherboard to bend when you screw it all back togeather.

Note: The 'DR#' is the 'drawer number' and may not be the same at every home depot. I've visited 3 now with the same drawer numbers, but the upc and description is the best way to find it.

I wouldn't encourage people to buy that, the materials can easily be found for $5 when this costs $30.

As of 1/2/2008, it's worth the kit. I had to go to 2 Home Depot's in LA to find the parts and they totaled $5.20. I only went because I'm impatient, I did order the kit from http://www.thecoupon...006.com/xbox360 via ebay for only $4.96.

So far, so good, but it's only been a few days.
