DeviceIOControl() failed 0
failed to execute flasher (sense: 05/26/00)

I got this on like four sectors flashing.

I knew before I would need to use the original package which I did, 2.2 gary. max. The only thing I did different was copied over the revised .bats .
I did restore h xxxx (my drive letter was h) and it failed on four sectors, I wish I copied and pasted the screen but oh well. I turned off the xbox after that and tested an original game it said unplayable disc very quickly (I thought that was weird) and when I put a backup in you could just hear the drive trying to read but nothing. So I booted back in to windows via slax with the xbox and did flash22s and it flashed my drive again no errors. I thought cool, its straight but when I went to put in a Xbox original game it said unplayable disc, Backups will still work. Honestly I barely play the box I just like messing with it and waiting for homebrew so I dont really care but id like to find out why this happend.

Can anyone explain why bad sata cables? semi mode b ? what what went wrong are other people having this problem where they know that they did it right and its failing.

Should i try a restore again or what.
Thanks smile.gif

EDIT i just found this I/O sense errors
5 / 26 / 00 INVALID FIELD IN PARAMETER LIST
and some possible resolutions on the page at the bottom
could something be interfering with the flashing? firewall another program.
Does anyone know?

Yep I kept getting this on restore.bat
even on the latest and greatest c4e 2.4 firmware.

I finally solved it by editing the restore.bat
and putting a new line with the word pause in between every
sector flash.

This makes the dos flash pause and ask you to press
any key to continue.

After each sector flash i wait approx 20-25 seconds
before pressing a key and now have no errors when
doing a restore.

You have to edit the section that deals with your drive

ie if you have a 47 then edit the section under :FLASH47
if you have a 46 then edit the section under :FLASH46
hope this helps.

an example without most bits.

:FLASH47
@echo.
@echo Restoring xx/xx sector
@echo.
47flash
qfc > nul
qfc > nul
find "done"
pause

So you need to put a pause after every find "done"
in the section for your drive.

I assume the same sort of thing is on the flash22s.bat

so you just need to edit it and put a pause line in before
each flashing sector xx/xx

then wait 20-25 seconds before pressing a key to flash next
sector.

You really should be using C4E 2.4 firmware now though.

Hmm , Well I tried to restore again this time using c4e's restore and added the pauses it passed on all but the mode b tweak so I said close enough. Then I ran the flash24s and it failed on the first xtreme custom code flash
It went through the rest though fine. I tried to run it one more time and it flashed the xtreme custom code one fine and then errored out and said your drive may not be in mode b, and turn off programs all that . I figured that was good enough. So it will play backups still and I dont know, my xbox games dont play like for example fatal frame 2 I put it in and it say unplayable disk almost immediately. Weird any thoughts ? smile.gif pop.gif

The search was down for me the other day and I tried using googles search but I didn't find anything. However i can now with googles so i don't know whats the deal, uhh.gif. Anyhow now that the search is up I found this post http://forums.xbox-s...p;#entry3578967
So its ok if it says failed on one or two as long as it says 100 % done at the end.
