Weird F Drive Problem In Dsl
Posted 29 May 2007 - 09:36 AM
ok so basically ever since i installed my 160 gig seagate harddrive, whenever i go into the explorer in dsl (eflem?) and go to /mnt/hda55 (after i mount it) i get heaps of folders called " / " that i cant go into.. ive tryed a loopback install onto the F drive and i get "error creating loopback.. read only filesystem". its realy weird and i need to get an install on the F drive. i tried to use the "mount -rw dev/hda55" command and also the "mountrw" versoin and this makes no difference.
ive searched and searched but havent found any1 with my specific problem and havent yet found a solution. plz help
thanks in advance

ive got dsl RUNNING fine, just the ftp version (not installed, i did have it installed but have since deleted it to try and fix this problem)
dsl is working.. but for some reson my /mnt/hda55 folder looks like this:
^heaps of folders like this that i cannot get into..
i have figured that if i can get dsl to read my f drive properly then i can install it on the f drive and my problem will be solved
does any1 have any idea how i can do this?

If you want somethinig different, your going to have to mess around with the install scripts or do it all manually.
I too have had a number of 'false' directory entries when mounting F:
Don't worry about it, just gnore them. Real directory entries should still show up.
