So I've been trying to decide which intall I should do with my chameleon. and frankly I dont see the advantage of using the pin header. it seems as though u still have to solder the d0 point as well as the p and e points. Is it simply just a place to store the chip thats outta the way or does it make any type of connection that allows functionality. beerchug.gif

Two advantages:

1) looks nice

2) easy to replace a botched chip: quick install is quite difficult to uninstall (as those with X1 are now learning)

Two disadvantages:

1) Difficult on a 1.0, unless you want to solder wires to the pin header, and use it that way.

2) You give up the chance to ever use pogo pins.
