So last night I did the 12-cent penny fix, just because it was easy and reversable. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

However, when I start it up the fans start off normally and gradually grow to full-blast. It's noisy, but I don't mind all that much because my Xbox runs quite cool now. I probably will want to rip the fans out in two days however. tongue.gif

But when I throw in a DVD, the fans return to normal. Go to the dashboard, spin up again. DVD, slow down. You get the point. Xbox 1 games and 360 games don't affect the turbocharging fans.

2 questions then: why are my fans running at max speed (I know there's a temperature sensor)
and why do they slow down when I put a DVD in?

Thanks.
