My DVD player supports "Progressive Scan" and component output. If I were to buy component cables for the dvd player, what signal would I be getting (480p, 720i, 720p...)? Or how about S-Video? It's hooked up using composite which I learned from you, only outputs 480i.

And, what does progressive scan do, or how do I enable it? The light never lights up on the front panel under "Progressive Scan". I have this DVD player by the way:

And is it possible to change the color of the text on the VFD? It's orange now, and I would like to make it blue if possible. Maybe install blue led's in the front panel and have them shine directly on the text/VFD screen thing?
