I've added a hdd fan and 2 80mm fans, trimmed the case and uprated the standard fan to 12v. But I don't know how or where to host pics a pointer to a free site or a kind soul to host them for me would be nice.

CPU 48C Down 12C from my initial mod
MB 34C down 6C

after 6 hours of constant use

I'll do a step by step guide if someone will host my pics.

My hard drive is doesn't get hot anymore where as it used to get very hot so I'm a happy man even though it cost my 33 on fans and a lead.

Thanks, pics uploaded to you site

I linked a couple of pics from your site hope you don't mind, I'll remove them if you want

HDD fan

You see the green piece of tape on the metal piece sticking up from the powersupply that's because the hdd fan touches the metal with case screwed fully on, so I added the foam pad as insulation

I uprated the xbox stock fan to 12v at the same time and it's actually louder than the 2 fans and hdd fan put together now, it's certainly louder than my pc now and the first time I turned it on I was certain I could hear someone hoovering next door but it was my xbox.

When the telly's on though I really can't hear it.

Mind you my PC is in my bedroom and it's not been turned off in over a year (Except for power cuts) so I'm probably immune to fan noise.

Little update, left it on all last night in mediaplayer just idling and the temps this morning

I bought it from Maplins in th UK 12.99 I think it cost, I actually added the HDD fan and the fan behind the original xbox fan about 2 months ago. This time I just added an extra fan and took the stock fan from 7v to 12v and got some pics which I forgot last time.
The hdd cooler was barely noticable. If adding to the xbox like I did I would think about adding air flow holes in the HDD tray it worked wonders for me.

desertboy, you're cool... even if only because i like the use of the word "hoovering" That's just an awesome word. why not add a few rheostats so you can control the fan speeds?

Because I really don't notice the fan noise with the TV on it's only when I'm in evo I notice it and because I really don't know what I'm doing here I'm quite amazed it worked. I didn't like cutting my hard disk tray that's for certain.

Ouch.

I took one of those stick on side mounted fan assemblies (such as the ones sold by Lik-Sang, removed the included fan and electronics and installed a good one in place.

It too dropped the temp about 12c and was no where near as painful.

Good effort though.

Whats cool about saying hoovering? Isnt that what everyone says? You do a spot of hoovering up?
