I'm wondering about installing a new hard drive to an xBox. I found this reference link:

My questions are:

a) can I put any size of hard drive I want into the xBox?

b) according to that documentation, after a hard drive has been built from scratch as an xBox hard drive, you then need to rebuild the C partition. They do this by using existing partition information pulled from a soft-modded xBox. How can I build a new xBox hard drive (for use in a console that currently is missing the original hard drive) without having the existing files from a modded one? Can I just build the hard drive (using option 1 from the reference link above) and then stick it in the console? Or do I need to find eeprom.bin files and C: and E: files from somewhere on the internet to use for the new hard drive?

Thanks for any advice on this!

b)Well you need the eeprom.bin from your xbox in order to lock the new hard drive with it.
softmods cant run unless the drive is locked the eeprom. So really to get the eeprom.bin
the xbox has to be modded in the first place like http://www.techfreak...s/modxbox.shtml
but you dont have the hdd so it's not possible the only thing you can do is to buy a modchip or build an eeprom reader
