Since this isnt really HD related i hope its ok here...

but anyway, as of now i have a Dell LCD 19" flat pannel monitor that displays at 1280x1024, i am looking to bump the pixels up a bit and get a widescreen panel and i think i found one that is good for what i want right here:

anyone have any input on that? it looks good to me, but i want to make sure i am getting a decent upgrade (i am not sure the contrast ratio on the monitor i have now, but i am betting its lower than 1000)

anyway, would the jump in pixels make a noticeable difference? also is the xbox more suited for widescreen? i just want to make sure that if i get this monitor i will notice enough of a difference to justify the price.

That is definitely an upgrade. I have the Dell 2005fpw and love it, although I don't use it for gaming right now, I used to take it with me to LAN parties and such. Worked great through VGA and HDMI>DVI.
