ok yesterday I was playing halo and when I turned it off I heard a pop. so I left it off for a while and came back and whenever I tried halo in the ads at the beginning all the audio and video was really garbled. then it just froze on a black screen before the main menu and does this on every game. so I took it apart and looked for solder burns didn't see anything checked the gpu and cpu nothin. so I tried the towel trick and it still does it. I have tried different cables. with and without the hard drive and I can't think of anything else. has anyone else ever had this problem and is it possible to fix. I will try to get a video of the problem tonight. thanks for any help

Just because you can't see avisually damaged component doesn;t mean that there is not one.

You can try the xclamp and penny fixes because at this point they can't hurt... but you probably need a new motherboard.
