You may remember this Xbox 360. Yes this is the one that I was supposed to be making portable. Instead, it will be water cooled. I have started it today although I haven't done much. It will be painted again but it will be black this time. I am repainting it because a rather ugly gouge showed up right in plain sight this weekend.

Now, some people won't like what I am doing here, but I think it is going to look good once it is all the same colour. I have decided to use a fan case because I didn't want to compromise cooling by the limited space inside the Xbox 360's case. This way I can use a really good 80mm fan with a good rad. I didn't use hot glue to attach it because I have noticed that with time, hot glue can become brittle. I used a special plastic gel adhesive. You will probably notice that it isn't the tightest around the edges and with my luck with Bondo, I will be using some JB Weld to make it seamless. I'm not sure if this is considered 'all internal' but it is the way that I think is best.

What RAD and RES did you finally end up picking up? I was following the progress in your portable thread. I dont see anything wrong with extending the cooling to beyond the actual dimensions of the box.

I haven
t picked up a rad yet but I am ordering a MCR80QP. The only reason it is taking so long to get the rad is because I want to find one in Canada. The rad is only about $25, any US website charges at least $30 for shipping and I know I am going to be screwed with a $45-50 brokerage fee and I'm not up for that. I don't think I am going to use a res. I haven't bought anything in regards to 'plumbing' it yet like a T-Line or anything but I do have a Danger Den fill port.

Got the paint today, flat black and clear coat by Duplicolor. I couldnít fint any JB Weldís so I bought a Bondo brand bumper repair kit, just a two-part epoxy that is easily finished(or so the package says wink.gif). I will epoxy the case parts together tomorrow and post pictures then.

So I havenít got a chance to work on this yet, I havenít been home since Tuesday. The carpenter that did the tile, cut what he thought was the exhaust for the nonexistent fireplace, but it was the exhaust for the furnace so it has been exhausting into the house for almost 3 weeks. Iím lucky Iím not dead. I am going home tonight as the problem is solved and I will post some pictures later.

Neat idea with the fan shroud. Just be sure you mold it in well and it should look good smile.gif

Here's some pictures of the painted case. The paint was flat black but with the clear coat, it's a little shiny.

I'll have pictures of the case back on the 360 later tonight and pictures of the water cooling when I can quit spending money on my shit van.

Looking good, I'm still thinking of water cooling my 360. Could you list the water cooling parts you bought in the future?

internal pics?

Pictures of what? Its nothing special, just a plain 360. I haven't installed water cooling yet because I don't have the rad(ordering Friday as mentioned above) and I still wanna play it while I wait for the part.
