Hi All,
I've had my box modded with a 500gb HDD for well over 3 years now.
I have partitioned F & G drives but recently i have had difficulty moving files onto the G:
It will go through the motions but then nothing appears once complete.

I've also noticed that some of my movies have begun to dissappear out of their folders.
Generally the more recent ones.

My F: drive is current 6gb off full and G drive has 69GB free.

Is my HDD heading for a melt down?
All help is appreciated.

Stats:
v1.6 with X3
500GB Maxtor Drive
Formatted with xbpartitioner F & G with 32bit clusters
BIOS is loaded with the LBA48 Option set.

How large are the F and G drives? Are you sure you got the G drive formatted with 32k? If so, then it could be the HD on its last legs.

I set it as F 137GB and G gets the rest.
I'm 98% sure i formatted G with 32K but i can check by highlighting it in XBPartioner tonight.

It's had a good life and I've cained it loads with files moving back and forth between partitions.

I thought maybe if i pull everything off and reformat i might get a bit more use out of it but as i don't have another HDD to use while doing this I'm a bit B*ggered.

Guess I'll buy a replacement, any ideas on what i should do with the curren HDD?

Thanks

I would save everything you can. Take the HD out and make sure it is unlocked. Run the manufacturer's diagnostics test on it. See if anything pops up. You could reformat the G with Xbpartitioner to make sure it is done with 32k clusters. Sometimes we get in a hurry and miss a step.

Cheers for the help.
I figured i'd have to get a new one and sharpish!

I did read something about there being a possible issue between your settings in XBPartioner and the X3 Chip LBA48 setting of F:137GB and G:gets rest. mentioned setting this to std Xbox HD.

If i had a solid backup i'd probably take a crack at it but i really can't afford to lose any data.

Nice one.
