Today I finally got around to installing the mobo of a extra Xbox into a replacment case.

Anyway it went well and works great. But when I turned it on I noticed the fan in the back of the Xbox wasent blowing much air. I was able to turn it up manually in XMBC but that setting dosent seem to matter once you launch a game.

1st question - Does the xbox fan change speed as needed during gameplay?

2nd - I checked all my temps at idle and after 1/2 hour of Just Cause gameplay Are these normal and ok temps for my xbox?

IDLE:

HDD - 90F
CPU - 112F
GPU - 102F

Under Load:

HDD - 105F
CPU - 123F
GPU - 113F

If they are high I have 2 ideas.

1) install a bigger fan at the back (80/120mm?)

2) Remove and clean the heatsinks, then replace using artic silver

Let me know what you all think and thanks!

Those temps are fine. I have an 80mm LED fan running at 12v and AS5 on the CPU. My temps are a couple degrees under those, but nothing outstanding. On a side note: 120mm laugh.gif . I'd like to see you fit that.

yeah 120mm is nice and big wink.gif

I was thinking of mounting it outside the case on the back somehow and running it togather with the stock one but since my temps are ok I dont think I am going to worry much about that right now.

Thanks and does anyone have temps they can compare to mine just to double check them. Thanks again!
