Given that the controller ports on the Xbox are simply USB ports, has anyone tried to hook-up a USB hub to it? Or do they make splitters for the controller so you can hook-up more than four controllers to the xbox?

Thanks.

The only tutorial I saw was for placing a mini hub inside the xbox, but at the end it didn't work perfectly. With a standard USB hub you can plug a hub into another hub and it will work fine. Given that the Xbox already has a hub built into it (the controller hub) I'm wondering if you modify a plug and connect a standard USb Hub to one of the controller ports, if it would work? Also you wouldn't have to mess around inside your Xbox.

Right. Then you could hook-up a USB hub abd other devices to it.

Do you know where to get those adapters?

i forget what the link is but you can easily put your own usb ports into the controler i fit two in side by side into one slot its alot better than paying 6$ shipping when you can pay that to put in your own and have two in one port instead of having only one.. they work perfectly for me

So you're using your controller as a hub for two devices? What have you hooked up to it?

Do you think it would work if you simply connected a usb hub to the controller port, rather than tearing apart the controlller?

you can probably make a usb cable heres the tut...

You need the following parts for it:

"Breakaway Extension Cable" or any Xbox extension cable

USB A female to USB B female cable (the picture just shows the two connectors; USB A on the right)

The USB cable should contain 4 wires: red, green, blue and white. The Xbox cable contains the same four wires, plus an additional yellow one.

All you have to do is cut both cables and connect the Xbox console connector to the USB A connector by soldering the wires with the same color together. The yellow one can just be left.

The Xbox console connector can now be plugged into the console, and the USB device can be plugged into the USB A connector.

then u can proably just connect a usb hub to it biggrin.gif
