Hello,

Recently I've been searching on the net for ways to put a new hard drive into the original Xbox and I found one that seems to be what I'm looking for.

However, I'm a total newb to hardmodding because as of right now my Xbox is softmodded and running XBMC.

I would like to know if this tutorial is a good one and is telling me everything I need to know about getting a new hard drive in my Xbox, and if possible could anyone tell me some things I might want to watch out for when doing this.

I'm thinking of getting a 60 GB hard drive to start out with.

The tutorial is found here: http://www.techfreak.../modxbox2.shtml

I would really appreciate some help/feedback on this one.

Thank you very much in advance.

That's a pretty good tutorial. Give it a shot, but verify if your hard drive is lockable (may still be lockable if not listed here): http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/

Well, the thing is, I don't know what hard drive I'm going to get to put in my Xbox yet.

Do you have any suggestions?

Most newer Drives work. If you go to pricewatch.com you can get a 500gb hd for $77.50 after shipping, not a bad deal.

One thing to keep in mind (especially since most tutorials don't mention it) is that partitions over 256gb must be (re)formatted with XBPartitioner, and you can't make partitions larger then 512gb with the currently available tools.

Unless you have a 1.6 console, you could flash your TSOP (eliminating the need to use XBoxHDM or to lock the drive).
