At first I would gratulate to all people who are involved and working on porting Linux on the Xbox. Now Ubuntu 7.04 is installed and it works very fine on my Xbox.

As described on the page free60.org the general purpose code on the xbox is at the moment very slow. So I've tried to compile some C++ code on the Xbox360. My results are that the codes runs about three times slower then on intel/amd machines. So my questions are:

- How is the progress of the development for a ppu-gcc? Can we expect in the next time with a first release?
- Can I do some special code optimizations to speed up my code? Using the flag -O2 brings something but's not a big benefit regarding code running on intel/amd machines?

Thanks in advance,

best regards,
