Noob Question About Firmware Flash

Once you have booted your computer from the usb flash device and the list of drives is shown will 'xtreme' always be what you are looking for?

It depends on what type of drive you're trying to flash.

It also depends how the usb stick is set up.
Me personally i use MTKflash & flash/dump manually & create the ix14.bin usint the .bat file included with each release. My SATA gets listed as 3) VIA8237 there are 2 other IDE ports listed also

I think if you set up your USB with Iprep you will get the Xtreme port choice.
If you want to be extra sure disconnect all your other IDE & SATA devices.
