There was no problem in reading the firmware to my disc, but when it came time to hacking the firmware for some reason firmtool did not start up so I had to reset my pc
I went into windows and used the makefirmware.cmd and it said everything was successful and gave me the modified firmware
So I went to flash it to my 360 and it tells me that the file size is wrong
I don't know what I can do to fix it

Try using frimware toolbox. Open the orig.bin and check that it is OK, make sure the key looks like a key and not all F's or 7's or something like that... I would suggest you dump it more the once more and compare the the keys in the file just to be certain...

If you are happy with the key, copy it in FW toolbox, then open the iXtreme 1.41 bin file and paste in the the key, save this file to the floppy or USB stick etc.... You should be able to flash this file to the drive and you will be all set...

Again, sound advice from podger.

If you are new, do it all manually - this way you understand it more and know what to look for.

It sounds to me like you have dumped the firmware off of a Hard Drive or DVD Drive.

Try removing these, or if using an NTFS4DOS cd remving all but the one used for booting.

FYI, if you are dumping the firmware to a floppy disk and you don't have enough free space, it will result in a partial dump.

It's really easy to forget just how small floppies actually are....

Why didn't you use dos flash 32 and do it all with window,s no need for a floppy, faster, and easier i think.
