Thought you guys may be interested in a little program i've wrote.

I wrote it to avoid having to re-scrape my movie collection from time to time, with a large collection of movies this can take many hours or even days to get everything right (Thats assuming that the scraper is 100% ok)

XBMC has for a while now supported .nfo files :-XBMC wiki

This program uses the exported videodb.xml and converts it to correctly named .nfo files and then saves them into subfolders that correspond with the share/path name.
All the user has to do is move them over into the same directory as the movies.

eg. movie1.avi in videodb.xml will create movie1.nfo with all the fields completed from the xml file.
This occurs with all movie entries contained in videodb.xml

There has been a thread on XBMC forums for a while now with a few people providing feedback and ideas and the program has reached the 1.0 stage:XBMC thread

Here is a screen shot of the program:

This has been pogramed using Visual Basic 2008,
if you have any problems running it then makes sure you have the latest .net framework installed (3.5)
.net download link

If you wish to try it then it can be downloaded here

I hope you find this useful:)

Although I don't use scrapers, I do have a suggestion:

Could you port this to Python?

If so XBMC itself could run the program. You wouldn't need to move the XML to your PC, or move the NFO files to their correct locations. XBMC would do it all it one go.

Download Update 1.01

Bugfix - when checked Replace Min in <runtime> with 'Minutes' then all instances of min in whole body were replaced, eg terminator became terminuteator
