This is actually a good question.. because I am sure there are people out there that think evolutionX has a 2.5 release out there, which is NOT the case...

The LAST OFFICIAL EVOX release was 2.4
Meaning Created by evoX and released by evox.

Now what you are seeing is a guy named Superfro that released a "modified" version of EVOX 's bios.
Named Unofficial EVOX bios 2.5 because evox did not release it nor did they write it to make it 2.5. Superfro took things out of the bios..such as the xbox blob on startup..he also has a release that changes the xbox logo colors...and also one that takes off the MS logo.. etc etc..
Along with he made HIS evox 2.5 .. 256k sizes instead of 1mg (don't worry about that part)

Anyway unofficial basically means he used the coding of evox (it is evox's work underneath) however he just changed it in a few ways.

I hope this helps you..
I tried to be as clear as I could.. but could have confused you more.
