Alright im starting out on my 2nd xbox mod.

I want to include a dvd window, clear jewel, green/white paintjob, and maybe some leds and controller port relocation if i feel like it.

RIght now im having trouble designing a good dvd drive window, heres wat i have so far.

Please feel free to give me other better ideas as this is the PRILIMINARY stages of this project

I personally think the design is plain. What if you flipped it around so the points were facing upwards like a crown and then make a circle under it for a face. Have the face and crown separated by a thin line of the xbox and engrave into the plexi for the face. Or something along those lines. I don't like plain to much but thats just my opinion.

yeah thats wat i was thinking. And also im tyring to make a profit on this, so i dont want to spend to much with engraving plexi and such

But on the other hand, i do want a plain, yet creative window. I want something that will look original but still look very good.

Does this cut have potential? or would it look better with somewhat rounded triangle, like the blades on a rotary blade, if you will.

Im looking to start this weekend [aka tomorrow lol] but i want the design to be solid

Yea if you're gonna sell it i might keep it kind of original. With the window yo;u might be able to try this possibly? http://metku.net/ind...iques/index_eng Except in an xbox =p

Wow thats realy cool. I think im going to continue to cut up on the left side of the jewel area and almost wrap around it, for a unique looking cut

also im selling it as a kind of "souped up xbox" if you will. Modded both cosmetically as well as software [flashed TSOP, poss HDD upgrade].

What do you plan on cutting the design with? Dremel? Just be very careful going around that Jewel area. If you make the wrong cuts, the jewel's area could be ruined. Meaning you would have to construct another way to hold the jewel in place. Overall, I like what I see so far.
