Hi all,

i found a good document with info for sharing over the network with xbmc

http://xbmc.org/wiki..._ccx_gui_(xbms)

I can't seem to find this sources.xml file though.

I also want to upgrade bc my version is a few yrs old. Even the newer versions dont have this file. I also noticed the newer versions dont have an xboxmediacenter.xml file, do i just use my original file with the newer version?

If I cant use the above method in the document, what other routes do I have with network streaming?

Thanks

"xboxmediacenter.xml" is only used with older XBMC builds.

"Sources.xml" is only used with newer versions. It's not included with XBMC, and it's created automatically the first time you run the program. It's recommended not to wipe this file between updates.

You can find the sources file in your UserData folder, though really there's no need to edit it manually. Go to one of your source lists in XBMC and press the white button, the context menu will give you an option to add a new one.

hey all,

I finally had some time to upgrade the version. Do I have to run a boot disk or some other dash to edit this sources.xml file..its not allowing me to edit the file while in xbmc...manually adding the sources is going to take me hours!

Why do you want to edit it manually? blink.gif

It's quicker editing the file...im not sure if its just for me but when adding the sources in xbmc its very sluggish and slow to browse the keyboard so it takes time browsing for shares on the network or manually typing the paths.

My biggest concern is the below though//

Did you guys get the sharing to work with windows and CCXGui? My console is unable to find the shares that I setup in CCXGui. I have no firewall running on my pc. Is there anything additional that must be done? Does port forwarding have to me configured on the router for 1400?

Thanks
