is there any way for me to install a larger drive without using XboxHDM, because Only one IDE cable is present in the computer I am using

from what I've heard, it sounds like I can do it with SlaYer's Auto-Installer, but A) I can't find a working download link to it anywhere and cool.gif I don't want to muck it all up if I f*** up

I guess I'll find a place for Slayer's and FTP it to my xbox and see if I can, and if so, burn it and do it

Hi,

you can only use slayers for that purpose if you have a modchip in your xbox. It won't work with a softmodded xbox.

There is a description in the General Hardware / Technical Chat Pinned topics about how to boot xboxhdm from an usb stick. This should solve the one ide port problem. It was created by ldotsfan.

You are suposed to burn the Slayers Iso on a disk and boot the xbox from that disk. You are not suposed to FTP it to your xbox.

regards.

Another option is chimp26. Look at my sig for a guide. Works well if the xbox isn't a 1.6.

you guys rock, I'm gonna try the USB XboxHDM method as soon as I can contact my friend with a Windows computer =p

I modded it with a hotswap (what a pain in the ass, the first computer I tried to use it with had 2 IDE cables, but XboxHDM kept looking for CD-Drives instead of Harddrives, and the 2nd one has one IDE cable, and I couldn't find a suitable guide for XboxHDM from USB (thank you again obcd), and so I did it with xPlorer360)
