Hey, never looked into turning an Xbox in a Linux Box...but I am thinking.

I know 1.6 version Xboxes are hard. Lets say I get a 1.5 or lower.

I am looking into a "fuck the dashboard I want a computer and nothing else mod"

So I am looking at xbox-linux.org and I am looking at where you have to copy the mech assault game saves to a USB memory card and hook it up to the Xbox.

Well my only USB drive is not supported. Fuck. But Can I do this?

Copy the game saves to a Xbox memory unit? Can I rip a memory unit apart, rip out my soldering iron, and hook it up via USB to my computer? And copy the shit that way?

Thanks guys.

yes you can rip apart a memory card and hook it up to your computer via usb but you need the action replay software to transfer the gamesave to the memory unit tutorial or if you dont want to rip ur memory card/ controller apart then you could go to gamestop, circuit city, best buy, whatever electronic store is near you or ebay/amazon and get an action replay cable which allows you to transfer the gamesaves to you memory card

also with more recent softmods like Ndure or UXE you can easily use a 1.6(cool.gif. The MA installer is ancient and very unstable.

MechInstaller belongs to the first generation of softmods as the xbox linux team was the first team to figure out how to hack the xbox with software methods.

Like krayzie said, you are better off with Ndure.
