I have a video playing in the background and I want a sound file to play on a delay as the video loops. I am having difficulty getting this to work. The following is an example of my mxm_skin.xml.

QUOTE

  <LayoutElement Type="Image" Source="lightning">
  <Pos t="0" l="-190" w="640" h="480" />
  <Scale x="true" y="true" />
  <Proportional>true</Proportional>
  <Timer Type="delay">0</Timer>
  <Timer Type="cycleon">1500</Timer>
  <Timer Type="cycleoff">4500</Timer>
  <Sound Enable="false" SuspendMusic="true" />
  </LayoutElement>
  <LayoutElement Type="Sound" Source="current">
  <Timer Type="delay">0</Timer>
  <Timer Type="cycleon">1500</Timer>
  <Timer Type="cycleoff">4500</Timer>
  </LayoutElement>

Can anyone help?

Well, I don't have that built into it at the moment, though I am considering adding some new capabilities for adding ambient sounds and such.

When I do, it will probably be using a sound event definition of some sort, and when I get random timer functionality in there as well, you'll define a 'Null' element type (not in there yet, but will be added for sound-only events) and set your timers appropriately, along with the event name to be associated with the sound.

Hmmmm... I just fleshed out the details here biggrin.gif I guess I'll have to look at squeezing this into the next release...

Thanks. Can you suggest a program that could add my sound and video into 1 file?

Well, the "standard" for most experienced MXM users and abusers is Video Vegas 4.0b.

I think Stoik Video Converter (freeware) also works well.

Premiere, Studio 8, and Virtualdub also work.
