Those little magnet things you get cables looped through, my xbox power cable has one and it gets warm after a good few hours use...

You seem to get them on everything, I ripped one to bits once to find out what it was, just a round magnet.....

its a ferrite clip. Simply 2 c shaped magnetic pieces to reduce interference from other electronic devices. no reason it sould be getting warm tho blink.gif

edit: same thing on the usb wires inside and on the controller cords

Heh.. I always wondered what they were also. Once I heard they were magnets I thought they were something to prevent interference.

Note: The big lump on your monitor cable is just a ferrite clip enclosed in rubber.

Did anyone think they were just put on for the heck of it? The manufacturer disposing of excess magnetic material? jester.gif
