Hello all,

I was wandering if it possible to swap the external HD-DVD drive with the internal DVD player of the original XBOX.

My concern is primary for SILENCE, HD-DVD drive is very silent compare to my dust-buster dvd drive i actually have in my XBOX 360.

I am planning to open my XBOX soon to put some silent cooling fan and i would like to put my HD-DVD inside.

Thank you guys !!!

That does add an idea for me though.

(Mods please move this to the correct forum....)

I had heard that the dvd and the hddvd had the same connections and same footprint, would you be able to replace the dvd-rom with the hddvd-rom drive if say, you were one of those person that lost your dvd key?

I mean, you're stuck with a media player anyhow, I wonder if it would play your hddvds?.... Probably not. The 360 is probably looking for the usb device to allow hddvd playback. If anyone has experimented
with this, give a shout.
