Had a failed flash of a hitachi, but it gave me a was.bin, a key.bin and a 59_16-12x.bin file. The 59_16-12x.bin file gives me a lot of zeros as a drive key. The was.bin however turned up this as a key in firmware toolbox:

3EB43C97585A579570E7F42ECF8840BA

Does it look right? The drive itself is bricked so either this works and I can buy a new drive and flash it with this key or I have to buy a new 360.

Yep, 32 character DVD key in hexadecimal taken from your 'was.bin' dump.

Inject this into another drive and don't forget to spoof it as a Hitachi v59 (if you're getting another type).

Thank you! It's nice to know I don't have a $300 paper weight.
