FYI.

Did the NXE update a couple of hours ago... installed no problem..

Set up my new avatar, then shut down.

10 minutes later and I turn it on again, to set the wife's avatar up, and I get 3 Red Rings..

Had the console for over 2 years, never a problem till this update. MS deny the update caused it, but are accepting it back under warranty.

Checked the error code, which is 0102...

Anyone else had similar issues ?

Cheers

ye mine died the day the NXE came out (error 0020), been using it for 2 weeks before fine (the NXE) then it just died on the 19th - though i had revived it from a E74 error i was getting 7-8 months ago, so i guess it was inevitably gonna die sooner or later.

sent it for repair- now im gonna get get lumbered with a lite-on dry.gif

it is purely coincidence that it died after updating. whenever ANY big release comes out, you will read about how it "bricked older consoles". this is because the older xenon/zeyphr motherboards have a 33%+ fail rate. its just a matter of time until they die.

if you look back, there were plenty of "gears of war killed my 360" "halo 3 killed my xbox" threads. the fault is the crappy lead free solder, not the dashboard.
