Simple question really. Has anyone found performance to be better or worse when running Half Life 2 from the hard drive. Im not sure whether the effect has been good or bad for me. The fact that it has to read installed files from the Hard Drive at the same time as the data from the disc. Plus this is reading from two partitions at once. I wonder if this is making the performance worse tongue.gif

It only crossed my mind when I reliased that Halo 2 is significantly slower running from the hard drive than from disc.

ive generally seen no change really, maybe possibly a slight decrease in loading from one area to the next. Ill fire it up and play for a lil bit and see if i notice anything. For all the hate i read sometimes on the xbox port of this game, its not really THAT bad. i thought it was pretty decent. i'll post you an update and let you know what i think.
