Still more to do but its 80% done.
Moded the cable to reverse the drive.
In its position.
Drilled some mounting holes, and some holes in the plastic to give the screws clearance.
The reversed drive in place.
Now for the window, masked up.
The window cut.
That doesnít look so good, so letís put in a window.
Open HDD in a bag
All done without the window Perspex in the case, will be flush mount. And the LEDís
I will install LEDís and the window later on. But it works =] i will also upload a video later tonight.
sorry for some of the blury photos.

thanks, the hdd does have this plexi in it, and i think it is airtight.
So you put plexi in the actual hdd case. And putting a flushmount window? And why did you need change the plug on it. You couldn't flip it?

when u take apart a hard drive, go into a bathroom, turn the shower on HOT and close the door, this will cause moisture to trap any dirt particles, and make them settle on surfaces, that way theres no dust in the air.
i did that to put it in the bag, and then after i did it again yo put the window back on.
my camera is rubish =[ ill borrow a better camera and retake pictures.
that looks risky
well it all still works
i think im going to take it apart again and paint it
also i might add a circle in the middle to cover up the center spindle of the drive. there might be more later today...

Dang. Wow. So risky. I remember reading somewhere that you need a "Clean Room" to open a HDD. Like a room that has been tested for no dirt in the air.
yes, you put the shower on hot and leave it for a few mins, then do your work in the bathroom. the cleanest place you can get then.
