Hi,

Im driving myself nuts. Ive already done a hitachi where I had to set it to modeb and also recently a benq which was also easy as pie.

However I am now trying to mod the above box (gdr 3120L 47DJ) and for the life of me I cant figure it out.

Ive downloaded several propgrams, xbins for the firmware, slax etc.

I guess the biggest problem I'm having is setting the bugger to modeb.

Anyone help me out on this, would be greatly appreciated. Ive got mine and bought my brother one yesterday and he is most miffed he cant use it yet.

Regards

Tam

If you've already done a Hitachi before what's the problem you're having with this one? Can't get it into modeB is pretty vague and not enough for anyone to go on to give ya suggestions.

Using one of the connectivity kits is the easiest way to get a v59 or older drive into modeB though.

What's wrong with the original drive? Are you after flashing it or just replacing the drive?

I checked xbins and there is the kit for GDR 3210L but its for the 78 not the 47 as I have... how much difference would this make?

I think I mainly need help just setting this chap to modeb... reasonably confident I can read current then flash the firmware after this.

Thanks again for any assistance

Thanks dude, doing so now.

I had used a slack CD to set it to modeb (at least it said thanks to XX.su) but vista wouldnt reboot once I had done so.

Ill kick hell out of your posting and see where that gets me, many thanks.

THanks RCD... worked a treat when I used an older version of Slax.

Funnily enough the trick was to get it set to modeb (which it did automatically) then tried to "spin" the drive.

Unknown to me this is when you eject the drive from the 360.

Thats all it took. 5 mins to load the firmware from xbins and I was flashed and running games.

Many many thanks.

Tam
